Fundu is located on a beautiful beach in the south west of Pemba Island. It is a stylish and smart beach location with accommodation that is wildely regarded as the most fantastic on Pemba Island. This is all set against a backdrop of a steep forested hillside.

All the spacious tented rooms have ocean views, romantic thatched roofs and are discreetly private. It has 16 rooms including 4 suites with private plunge pools, swimming pool, access to Mesali island and superb diving. There are 3 bars, an excellent restaurant and a calming fusion spa.

Heavenly rustic chic. Fundu Lagoon's location is fabulous - and from start to finish the service was faultless. Unlike so many hotels who drag you straight into a registration process - the last thing you want after a long haul flight - at Fundu , we were picked up from the boat at the end of the jetty by the manager, walked gently around the resort and then to our room where a bottle of champagne awaited us - what more could you ask for?

Food was delicious; an early morning deep sea fishing trip brilliant (topped by the fact that the restaurant could dine upon our catch that night); resort is perfectly laid out so you feel you're there on your own... The only sad fact is that the beach isn't perfect - though there is a perfect one a short boat ride away.
