I welcome you to Vuma Hills Tented Camp, one of the best vacation lodges in Mikumi National Park Tanzania. Vuma Hills, as the name implies, is set on the slopes of Mikumi’s southern hills, a short drive from the park’s main gate.

It offers fine views down across the Mkata flood-plain to the north, and gives guests the choice of exploring the beautiful southern hills, with their luxuriant forest (weather conditions permitting) or drive down to the open flood-plains, where game is often plentiful.

The luxury tents at Vuma are mostly set on stilted platforms, each tent self-contained and with a spacious, shaded deck where you can sit and sip your ‘sundowners” whilst watching the sun actually set beyond the Rubeho Mountains.

Tents are fitted with electrical supplies, with hot and cold water available in the in-built bathroom facilities at the rear of each one. Birding at Vuma can be especially rewarding.
