Rufiji River Camp is one of the best safari lodges in Selous National park Tanzania. This Camp is located only a kilometre inside the Selous’ eastern gate, on a bluff overlooking a bend in the Rufiji River.

Set among a lovely grove of woodland, the camp has been kept deliberately low profile, blending in harmoniously with the surrounding woodland and bush.

There are hippos and crocodiles in the river and a wealth of animal and bird life in the area, especially close to the series of small lakes that begins a short drive away. Boat safaris on the river, and walking safaris in the bush, are among the highlights.

Guests are housed in 20 comfortable tents, each with twin bedswith mosquito nets, en suite bathroom and a verandah facing the river. The central dining tent provides excellent cuisine
