Mukutan Retreat with the unique setting, the silent and the evocative sounds of Africa, make it an exclusive hideaway for discriminate travellers, in simple yet extremely sophisticated comfort.

The lodge is built in an elegant and traditional style out of native materials – stones, old twisted trunks of olive and planks of cedar, with steep roofs of papyrus.

Mukutan is composed of a spacious common area and three cottages, which accommodate a maximum of six people.

All rooms have double fireplaces, an open veranda with spectacular views of the Mukutan Gorge.

Location:

Mukutan Lodge is situated on the extreme west of Laikipia on the 100,000 acre Laikipia Nature Conservancy, home to conservationist and author Kuki Gallmann. Laikipia is 50 minutes flight from Nairobi Wilson Aiport.

Accommodation:

Mukutan lodge has 3 large cottages; can accommodate about 8 guests. All rooms have a double fireplace, verandah, bathroom and double beds.
