The Retreat Dar es Salaam

The retreat Dar es Salaam is a beautiful colonial style house with fantastic views of the ocean, a lovely garden and should be a perfect place for a stop over and the staff are incredibly helpful.

However, it's let down by some things very badly, first, the food is wildly overpriced, from memory we were charged almost $40USD for two plates of fired meat and rice, we didn't even bother with drinks as they were astronomically priced.

The Retreat Dar es Salaam, an exclusive boutique hotel with only five rooms, is situated in a huge tropical garden on the shores of the Indian Ocean. The residence has direct access to the beach yet does not open its facilities to the public which protects the private luxury of guests and their friends.
