The Lighthouse Beach Resort in Dar TZ

Away from Uganda to spend some lazy X-mas days in Dar Es Salaam with family. We had a great time and it's always good to come back to The Lighthouse Beach Resort to meet Frank and the rest of the lovely staff.

Mixing urban sophistication and easy beach culture, the resort has two, secluded and comfortable two-bedroom bungalows, two double room bungalows and two second story double rooms which are individually decorated and furnished by local craftsmen.

Each deluxe cottage has its own spacious veranda with lounge chairs, offering a perfect place to relax, as you leave your cares from the demanding world behind.

The food is excellent and it's so beautiful and peaceful to come out to this great place.

To wake up, take a coffee just outside your room, enjoy the amazing view; some fish boats are out there..., an eagle is flying near the old Lighthouse on the cliff, and the beautiful beach is just waiting to get your company.

Go down for a lovely breakfast, then off to the most fantastic white sandy beach (where it's only you and some fisherman’s...) and spend a lazy day in the sun.

We even got our own romantic lunch down at the beach; white table with flowers and champagne.. just for my love and me.

It was fantastic! Before dinner it's a must to sit on the roof terrass to see the sun going down and sip to a cold drink or glas of wine.

I'll recommend to go for a walk to the small village nearby. It's so diffrent to our modern and busy life back home. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Overall a great place, with a good balance between price and quality. Would love to come back.
