Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is an amazingly beautiful place, breathtaking setting with great views on the Serengeti plains.
3 to 4 rooms are in each thatched roundavel hut, all having a patio or balcony respectively.
Nice lounge and bar area as well as dining room.
Excellent food and a rich breakfast breakfast / lunch and dinner buffets are offered.
This hotel was quite nice and also offered free wireless internet at the bar.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in every way.
Even better was the night entertainment--tribal dances one night and the next was literally the best acrobatic show I have ever witnessed! It was truly amazing the talent those young men have!
I would recommend getting up early (6:20ish am) to head to the balcony in the back by the pool and observe the sunrise over the plains.
When walking from / to the huts to the main building after dark, one requires an escort as the lodge is in the park with no fence
From the balcony, I could hear a leopard calling, and a day before arrival a female has used a hut to keep its cub for a day.
The rooms are nice and have all amenities, only slippers are missing.
The rooms are housed in domed huts but the standards are amazing, while my room was towards the end the view was still great, watching the Dikdik eating from the balcony with a glass of beer as the sun goes down doesn't get much better.
The pool area is a great shady place to read and for the full sun experience head over to the viewing balcony. I would heartily recommend a trip to the viewing balcony before breakfast to see the wildlife.
Food is served buffet style and was great, we never wanted for more and the restaurant is set out in such a way as it never feels crowded.
