New Dodoma Hotel (Dodoma Rock Hotel)

There are not many choices in Dodoma of any quality but New Dodoma Hotel ( Dodoma Rock Hotel) is a pretty good one. It is an old style building with the rooms set around a courtyard offering a nice but quiet atmosphere.

The Hotel is frequented by many Tanzanian MP's and officials but do not be put off by that.

The rooms are not air conditioned but temperatures are not too high and good quality mosquito net is provided.

TV in the rooms is fine. The wifi works but has a frustrating habit of going down momentarily causing the user to have to repeatedly log on again.

Food wise no complaints - good breakfast selection , a nice if limited lunch buffet and a good Chinese restaurant.

The hotel has a range of services in offices around the courtyard. Do not rely on the business centre if you are in a hurry or need any complex work done but you will at least be greeted with a smile.

Service can be slow but not intolerable and it is pleasant to sit outside in the evening just be sure to use a mosquito repellent.
