Malaika Beach Resort

The photos don't do Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza Tanzania justice. It is a beautiful get-away set high on the rocks overlooking Lake Victoria.

We stayed there two different times while visiting in Western Tanzania and were truly delighted with the accommodations both times.

The rooms are large and well furnished with enormous bathrooms, including a shower and a separate tub.

The rooms are at different levels and sometimes a little climb up steps but worth every footstep once you see the view.

There are little walkways and tiny bridges around the resort and of course the waterfall which is lit with colored lights at night.

In the evening the frogs provide a chorus of sound and for bird lovers, well, all I can say is bring your camera because just sitting on the terrace in the restaurant pavilion will provide many opportunities to photograph a variety of birds and their antics.

Breakfast is served buffet style with plenty of choices to satisfy your early morning hunger.

If you like seafood, you won't be disappointed with the fresh fish meals. Roasted and grilled chicken are done to perfection and will surely please many.

The front desk staff were helpful and even called me after I got home as I had left an item of value and kept it until someone could collect the item for me.

The seclusion and beautiful grounds are a drawing card as peace and serenity were the qualities we were looking for when we chose this resort. The resort is very close to the airport.

The restaurant also has a good selection of food, staff are always happy to help and nothing is too much trouble, would definately stay there again.
