I was very apprehensive at the thought of just a piece of canvas between me and the wildlife of the Serengeti but from the minute we arrive at andBeyond Serengeti under Canvas camp I felt at my ease.

The tent was better than I had hoped - clean, comfortable and quite spacious, and the feeling of being in the midst of things was fantastic.

This was an unforgettable, incredible travel experience for me.

andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas is breathtakingly beautiful, right in the Serengeti, with beautiful trees, plains and animals in front of your eyes.

Our canvas tent was so comfortable and luxurious - it truly felt like a home for those 3 beautiful nights.

We took advantage of the game drives, and often went early in the morning and had our breakfast later in the morning on the drive.

Probably the memory that stands out most for me from this trip was when we found a family of elephants, and we ate our breakfast while watching them, so close by!

It was magical! Our ranger, Mohamed, was extremely knowledgeable, kind and had the uncanny ability to spot animals from extremely far away.

Amazing eyesight! We saw the beautiful migration of the wildebeests and zebras, as well as a cheetah kill, warthogs, giraffes, lions, buffalo, one fantastic turtle, gazelles, antelopes, and more.

It made the vacation feel even more unique and so far-removed from my daily life being surrounded by so many gorgeous animals.

At the camp, we were welcomed back from our afternoon game drives with a delicious drink, snack, and a hot shower.

It's truly amazing how comfortable the tents are.

We'd then join other guests and the staff around the camp fire each night to share stories over drinks before dinner.

I truly loved these conversations in front of the fire. We'd hear about the Masai culture and about other guest's game drives.

The food was absolutely delicious. The staff graciously showed me their kitchen area, since I love to cook myself. It is an impressive operation, as they are able to prepare such fresh and delicious meals in the middle of the Serengeti.

My favorite dish was the roast chicken - the chef was kind enough to share the recipe with me. & Beyond has a cookbook which features recipes from all of their properties, which I purchased and love. I've already prepared several dishes from it!

One nice touch was that each night we'd find hot water bottles in our bed as part of the turn down service.

Mussa, the manager of the Serengeti Under Canvas was hospitable, kind and welcoming.

You can tell that he takes so much pride in his work.

We particularly enjoyed visiting with him by the fire each night.

Our butler, Daniel, is perhaps one of most endearing and kind people I've met.

He arranged a private dinner in front of our tent for our last night, and set aside a special bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon.

If I could return to this magical place tomorrow, I would in a heartbeat. I loved it so much and really cherish the time I was able to spend there. This is truly a place not to miss.
