Dar es Salaam Alexander's Hotel

You are Here: › Alexander's Hotel

In the dust and bustle of Dar es Salaam, we came across Alexander's Hotel purely by chance whilst planning a lay over on our way home from the Comoros. 11 spacious rooms on 2 floors wirh a rooftop bar and restaurant, all constructed around central courtyard with pool.

This boutique hotel, ably managed by Gordon Alexander was a real find and it was a great pleasure for us to stay there. Restaurant food was good and the rooftop bar area very pleasant in the evening

Felt like we were staying in a friend's home. Relaxing in the bar area upstairs was the perfect way to end the day.

The plan was just to stay 2 nights and we ended up using the hotel as our base while traveling around Tanzania.

Gordon arranged airport pick-ups and even held on to some extra luggage during our short trips (such a nice touch).

Food was so good we had dinner there at least 3 times. Rooms clean and staff is very friendly. Hope to get back to Tanzania and will DEFINITELY stay there again!

Alexander's was a little oasis of peace and tranquility. We can't say enough good things about it.

The room was comfortable, the shower was hot, the shared spaces lovely, the staff amazing, and the food just simply awesome.

Gordon was incredibly helpful. We didn't leave the grounds for our entire stay. It was quite simply wonderful.

It boasts an excellent roof top restaurant - and probably the best home made ice cream in Africa! The rooms are spacious and airy with efficient air conditioning.

The pool and laundry service are an added bonus. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Dar.

At the end of long flight or meetings in the city it is an oasis and I always look forward to returning.
