Zanzibar Archipelago Restaurant

Zanzibar Archipelago Restaurant is one of the popular places by the waterfront at Stonetown.

For most people, their terrasse overlooking the sea and Forodhani gardens seems to be the the main advantage.

But their food at Archipelago Restaurant is also great! in fact, of all the paces we tried, it was our favorite, at least for that sort of price.

The fish and seafood is fresh, their soup delicious and their local deserts fantastic.

A few weeks on, we still think about it and wish we were back, enjoying some prawns.

I can't compare Archipelago to the other restaurants in Stone Town, as I was so happy with the food that I went there for dinner every night I spent on Zanzibar.

Not all the dishes were equally convincing, but the daily specials never disappointed me.

Spices and side-dishes showed both creativity and restraint so that the main act - fresh fish - could always shine.

The grilled trevally with cumin was the best fish I have eaten for a very long time.

The staff at Archipelago were attentive and friendly, the views from the terrace great, and the prices reasonable - a clear recommendation
