Upepo Boutique Beach Side Restaurant

We found Upepo Boutique Beach Side Restaurant on a walk up the beach in search of a nice quiet place to eat.

We loved it immediately - the small restaurant was just what we were looking - quiet retreat off the beach, good music and great food.

Karen made us welcome with ease and we ended up having one of the nicest meals and evenings in Zanzibar sharing travelling stories and getting to know Karen and Shareef.

We went back every evening for dinner for the rest of our stay in Zanzibar.

We would definitely recommend Upepo to anyone staying on this patch of the East Coast!Beautiful fresh food, great presentation including flowers. Wonderful use of spices and fresh seafood.

A real treat. And a quiet restaurant in the off-season.
