The paucity of decent conference venues in Kisumu is every reason to appreciate the excellent services offered by The Vic Hotel Kisumu. At Ksh 5000/- single inclusive of a full buffet breakfast and free internet, the rooms are well appointed, absolutely comfortable and superb value for money
The well secured location being within The Mega City complex gives guests a choice to dine not just at their outlet "Mon Ami Too" but a host of eateries in the food court.
This hotel has a lovely ambiance, the decor is simply subtle and not over the top.
The Bar which incidentally is for residents only is a quiet and nice place to unwind.
The pool area decked with sunbeds and shades is also a good place to relax, if you wish to indulge in something more energetic then dive into the azure pool or just work out in the gym. This hotel has it all, needless to say the attentive staff are the true super stars.
As far as Kisumu goes, this place is well above average.
However, the receptionist that we booked with and greeted us on arrival has a shocking attitude to everything. Apart from that the Hotel was adequate but nothing outstanding.
It was nice and clean and quiet. If there is room, definitely go to Kiboko Bay (owned by the same people but much better attitude) as it's far nicer and you will enjoy it a lot more.
I'd put this as a firm number 2 of the places we've stayed at in Kisumu in the last 3 months (Jumuia, Great Lake Hotel, Macedonia Resort Club, Vic Hotel and Kiboko Bay Resort) and I would stay here again if Kiboko Bay was full or I needed to be located closer to the city centre.
