Tamarind Beach Hotel Zanzibar

You are Here: › Tamarind Beach Hotel

Stayed at Tamarind Beach Hotel Zanzibar over a weekend! The hotel has everything to offer and the prices were totally fine as well!

It’s not one of the more luxurious alternatives in Unguja but good anyway! The service was very good and the staff very kind!

The atmosphere was relaxed which i do prefer.

You do not have many meters from the bungalows to the ocean -just pass the excellent Pool and then you are there!

The biggest flaw for this hotel was evidently the rooms - wherein attaches bungalows.

In this hotel you are not hidden behind high walls and your everyday life is not ruled by a lot of regulations.

Hotel has a very nice layout with little lodges dotted around. A very nice pool and is actually on the beach front.

The beach is very nice, there is some seaweed but this is actually the better part as we had a walk up and down for quite a way.

The restaurant at the hotel is good. Breakfast is included and it's usually fresh juice, toast, fruit and eggs in a variety of choices (scrambled, boiled, spanish, etc).

The rest of the meals were actually very very good.

All very good portions, well cooked, well presented and tasted amazing. I

tried seafood mostly so the lobster, tuna, kingfisher and seafood platter were very good quality. The waiting was good also.

The staff are friendly but have the tendancy to try to make their own offers to you to make some money on the side.

The hotel has wifi free too which was a godsend as some of the more expensive hotels charge for this. It was a good speed too but didn't extend to my room (it's mostly around the restaurant area).

The mood and atmosphere is very relaxed at this place and it surely is a nice and quiet place. The hammocks on the beach are great to just wind down on.

I would love for the owner to spend some money and renovate the place, put new bedding/curtains etc in and give the place a good once over, it would then be a wonderful rustic hotel like it once would have been.

We liked not being in a big resort-style hotel and actually getting to know the staff and other travelers and it was great value for the price!!
