Sandies Mapenzi Beach Club Zanzibar

We had the pleasure of spending a week at Sandies Mapenzi Beach Club Hotel in Zanzibar and what a wonderful place to be.

The staff is amazing and the "all inclusive" package is really good value for money. I would recommend this holiday to anyone.

What really made it superb was the fact that besides eating, swimming, relaxing and sipping cocktails all day you also get to enjoy organised activities during the day - water aerobics, archery, beach volley ball, stretching just to name a few.

In the evenings after dinner there is always entertainment. Thanks to Mohammed and Alley who get the people festive.

The only thing that could maybe have some attention is the air-conditions in the room. Ours was set at 15 degrees but was nowhere near that temperature.

Also the drainage from the shower was not so good and over time has made water stains on the floor and walls. Perhaps this needs to be looked at.

Besides that we had an awesome time at Mapenzi.

The beach boys get annoying so when asked by them when did you arrive tell them a week ago and they seem to leave you alone knowing you probably have bought your entire curious etc already.

The sunset dhow cruise is however brilliant - worth every dollar - very romantic.

To end it all - Mapenzi is a wonderful holiday destination and did us the world of good.
