Salama Beach Resort

Salama Beach Resort in Kikambala Mombasa Kenya is not big and situated slightly isolated directly on the beach.

I have stayed at many hotels during my 4 years of traveling Mombasa and Kenya in general; this is an oasis in the middle of chaos.

The bungalows and the grounds are immaculate cared for, the staff is extremely friendly and obliging.

The swimming pool is probably the cleanest pool I have ever seen.

The food at the Maridadi restaurant is of a quality which would make the best restaurants jealous.

I have nothing but good things to say about the owners and their staff who went above and beyond to make our stay as peaceful and as safe as possible.

They are quite close with the Tourist Police and on one occasion I recall they went to pick up arriving guests at the airport with an armed police escort ensuring their safety.

Now I know that one may not like to hear armed escort and paradise in one sentence but it was reassuring to know that they maintain a close relationship with the police and that insecurity was never an issue.

I loved this resort because you are truly left to your own devices. Seek what you desire but you are truly left alone for the most part. The housekeeping staff were lovely! Mariam the head housekeeper personally cleaned our rooms and kept things perfect.

.

All in all, an extremely wonderful resort and an amazing staff who offer service with a smile always. It's very laid back, far from bigger hotels and has a cleaner and less busy beach than most. Go there with loads of books, sunblock and be ready to relax.

Unfortunately we only stayed for 7 days and if we had, had more time we would have extended our stay. Rarely have we relaxed more than at this Resort.
We would recommend it at anytime to anyone who is looking for relaxation at its best.
