Red Chilli Rest Camp, Paraa

You are Here: › Red Chilli Rest Camp

I participated in the Red Chilli Rest Camp Paraa for 3 day trip to Murchison Falls National Park, which included 2 nights at their Red Chilli Rest hotel.

The trip and accommodations simply can't be beat in this price range.

Yes, it's is "roughing it" in some ways, but this is a budget place in Africa, so those that expect more for this price are unrealistic.

First of all, kudos to Red Chilli for running my trip with only 3 people...I'm sure they weren't making much if any profit with that small a group

Like in Kampala, the Red Chilli Rest Camp was well run, with great food, friendly staff and cold drinks.

Only drawback were the crummy showers....not as good as in Kampala, but again...this is Africa...you want perfect showers, go somewhere else and spend 10x as much.

The safari aspects of the trip were OK...we saw a decent amount of animals, but those expecting the Serengeti are in the wrong place and will be disappointed.

Murchison Falls itself is awesome...world class. Anyway, the Murchison Red Chilli carries on the same tradition of great quality in the budget price range as the Kampala location.

Watch out for the resident warthogs though. If you sit at one of the outside tables at lunchtime they will come along for a look and see if there is any spare for them.
