Migunga Forest Camp

Migunga Forest Camp is on a beautiful location, right in the forest with the animals.

I'd read a number of reviews and talked to folks who had stayed there describing the animal noise, esp. at night.

Contrary to what some have commented, I personally found the forest noises soothing and relaxing.

Accommodations are comfortable and clean, beds have good fly netting. We were particularly pleased with the restaurant service and quality of the food.

Water pressure/temperature were our only complaints.

Though we did have water for showering, pressure was low, and we did not have any luck getting warm water (kind of reminded me of swimming in the lake at our cottage....cold but refreshing!).

We stayed in a tented hut in the middle of the forest. The beds were very comfortable and had mosquito nets.

There was electric lights in the tent and a bathroom with toilet and shower with hot water. During the day the grounds of the camp were full of mischievous little monkeys and the most amazing birds.

During the night you could hear the animals walking by right next to the tent. The food was very nice and staff lovely.

Would like to have stayed here longer as the camp had an organised bird walk that would have been good to go on.

Also you could rent bikes and walk down to the village.

All in all, a delightful distraction from the ho-hum, regular hotels....felt more like we were actually in Africa! Would highly recommend
