Merica Hotel

Nakuru is a very busy city and is, to be blunt, not a place one would choose as a vacation destination. The Merica Hotel in Nakuru isn't a five-star hotel but we all were pleasantly surprised with our rooms. The only thing the hotel doesn't have that we could have used was fans.

Other than that....rooms were clean, breakfast buffet was delicious, pool area was a great meeting spot for drinks and conversation, and there was no concerns about safety within the hotel.

Kenya needs an economic shot in the arm so visit the area, spend money, and understand where you are before being critical.

On the flip side the staff were absolutely charming & they bent over backwards to ensure my business meeting went well.

Would definitely recommend for Business meetings. Unfortunately the wireless in the conference rooms doesn’t work. Neither in the rooms. Good hotel though...Food is tasty & great staff.
