I was very fortunate to stumble across Les Toits de Palme when I ventured out to Kendwa after a rotten experience in other accommodation in Nungwi.
I negotiated a good rate for a bungalow room and stayed there 5 nights, even bringing some friends along who were also pleased to stay there for a week.
The service is very good and the presentation is fantastic for what is meant to be budget accommodation.
Bungalows have sea views and are right on the beach. No A/C, though rooms are generally quite cool even without use of the fan.
Le toit de palme is situated right on kendwa beach in the North of Zanzibar - it is the best and only beach where u can swim all day and not worry about the tide going in.
They have thatch bandas right on the beach and further up on the hillsides are little bungalows. The bungalows are very basic - but they are adequate and reasonable for the price u pay.
An amazing and huge breakfast is
included which u eat with the most amazing view of the beach, they also have
the best best best food ever and it's all reasonably priced.
All other hotels in kendwa are very up market
and affordable, so its great that this place still caters for us backpackers!
