We stayed at Lake Mburo Luxury Tented Camp for one nigh. The tent was well set out with the bedroom at the front with the washing facilities, bucket shower and flushing toilet at the back. There is lighting in the room in the evening. The view of Lake Mburo was good. The lounge area was a nice place to relax and the staff was friendly and helpful
This tented camp is set up on the hillside with lovely views towards the lake. The tents are huge with very large verandahs with chairs and are spaced quite a distance from each other. The two single beds were clean and warm, the food here is very good and the staff are very helpful and like everywhere in Uganda very happy to please.
They escort you to your tent at night. The gravel paths ensure any animals will
hear you coming. They organised a walk from the camp with a guide who had a
rifle and the biggest scar on his body caused by a buffalo charging him!
He showed us this whilst a few buffalo were heading towards us. I didn't feel particularly safe at that point and also walking very close to the small islands of bushes which if you had been in the Mara would have concealed lions.
I have since found out there are no lions here so it was a safeish walk, the walk up hill going back was a taste of gorilla trekking later on the trip.
If you do stay here, do go out on the Lake - its well worth it and the views
are wonderful
