Kuni Jogoo House

Having been to Watamu and Diani a number of times now I was stoked when I was lucky enough to accompany some people on a trip to Kuni Jogoo House in Lamu Kenya.

It was amazing, and a bit surreal...deserted...we went waterskiing, snorkelling and enjoyed a a lot of chill time at the pool.

The staff looked after us as if we were royalty, and whatever demands we put on them were met and exceeded..

We had dinner on the beach every night and lots of it, nobody left the table hungry but all of us wanted more, and there was plenty to choose from, crab was our group favourite and lobsters by the dozen!!!!

The rooms were huge, all had great fans and big open bathrooms with clean surfaces and great towels, brilliant hot water as well.

The atmosphere overall was relaxed and easy without being too laid back.

The boats were great, we went fishing, not very seriously for a few hours and could easily have done more (decent equipment and rods etc) and also had time to go snorkelling out at the little rock whats name i forgot...but its a good trip...quite a strong current around the rocks so you want to be prepared for a swim into lee points around the rock, where you can snorkel quite easily and see more fish!

The Kilindini dhow trip at sunset up the creek with sundowners and bitings would be amazing, although sadly we didn't get time to do it....we took the dhow out snorkelling with us and had a champagne breakfast aboard instead!

The beaches were beautiful and although there was a visible security presence with police boat patrols and askaris posted along the beaches it was not intrusive, nor did it make me or any of our group anxious.

Highly recommended for mixed groups and families as there are plenty of rooms and showers...and an amazing pool. If i went again i would ask the staff to put a mosquito net up on the outside swing beds on day one.

Like the header says, amazing place - amazing people
