Overview

Kobujoi Development Training Institute is in Aldai Division of Nandi South District in Rift Valley Province.

The Institute was established in 1963 as a social training center by the Catholic Diocese of Kisumu.

It was later handed over to the Diocese of Eldoret and administered under the development office.

The establishment of the institute emanated from the Catholic teaching which was meant to liberate the rural folk from cultural practices, political and economic imperialisms in order to improve their dignity by empowering them through education, health and social training.

This is in line with the teaching of the Second Vatican Council and subsequent documents which proclaim that justice and development are integral parts of evangelization.
