Kluges Guest Farm

You are Here: › Kluge’s guest farm

If you love nature, and beautiful natural surroundings, then Kluge’s guest farm in is the place to visit.
We spent 6 nights at Kluge’s guest farm.
It’s a tranquil and quiet place to relax and enjoy the forest, take walks into the village, swim, enjoy the views of the Ruwenzori Mountains, a home base to visit the surrounding areas or just relax in the company of Mariam and Stefan Kluge, who gladly provide many traveling tips for things to do in the area.

They are also the most friendly and approachable people.
The food is delicious with Stefan whipping up meals that will leave your taste buds scintillating for more of his creative creations. All the vegetables are grown on the farm and are always fresh. You can look forward to freshly baked bread every morning.

The meal times were flexible to whatever activities we had planned for the day.
And Stefan was happy to prepare any dishes we wanted to sample, at any time.

The setting is quintessentially homely, with home like activities taking place every morning, sweeping of leaves and flowers, taking the cows out to graze, ladies working in the gardens, lots of birds that make it an ideal place for bird watchers.

Mariam and Stefan are warm, gracious, efficient hosts, without being intrusive.
The farm is surrounded by a papyrus swamp and a tropical rain forest which is the home for several families of Black and White Columbus monkeys.

Every evening, the guests have an option of sitting by the fireplace outside and sharing stories or just enjoy winding down with a glass of wine and the sounds of crackling wood, AND Stefan tells the most amazing stories around the fireplace too.

The place is very spacious so you can enjoy the privacy of your own company if you do not want to socialize with other guests.

The rooms are spacious, have large beds with mosquito nets and a balcony where you wake up to the sights of the Ruwenzori Mountains.

We enjoyed swimming in the pool and touring the neighbouring parts, as we made Kluge’s our home away from home.

If you love gardens, then you will enjoy this botanical oasis of countless plants, trees and flowers, lovingly tended and cared for that add so much character to the farm.

We liked the location of this place, it is a 15 minute drives into town, but still far enough for some privacy and respite from Fort Portal town.

It was a great stay and exactly what we wanted.
It felt like home.
