Kims Restaurant Zanzibar

You are Here: › Kims Restaurant Zanzibar

Kims Restaurant Zanzibar is no doubt the best restaurant in Jambiani and probably one of the best places in Zanzibar.

Try their fish samosa - absolutely amazing! The food is fresh - they make it as you wait so allow an hour or book in advance - you will not regret it!

Kim’s restaurant is next to the Blue Oyster, but it’s easy to miss.

It’s a simple, open-air in front of the village.

The vegetable curry was outstanding and reasonably priced.

The waiter very helpful, and you feel like you’re eating with the family.

Would definitely recommend it if you want a more authentic experience than what the hotels offer.

Other Restaurants and Quick Food Outlets

We went for a mid morning walk and fell upon the sign for Kim's restaurant, after following the sign through the passageway we found it.

Our first words were WOW, there was reggae music playing and no one in sight.

We went through the back door and the waiter came towards us and asked if we wanted to eat or drink something, our answer was YES.

The tables were set with fresh leaves and flowers as place mats and the decor was original with sea sand as the floor covering, this was really one of a kind restaurant.

We ordered and waited for the food with a bottle of white wine listening to Bob Marley music "PERFECT".

The waiter was really kind and friendly.

We heard chopping in the kitchen and realised that like everywhere in Zanzibar the food is prepared and cooked when ordered and we were prepared to wait as we knew that we were getting freshly cooked meals(not pre prepared or frozen).

We had the Coconut Chicken and Fish curry which was really delicious full of flavour (Zanzibar spices).

We met Kim and thanked him, he showed us the Jambiani Womens pottery shop which is just behind the restaurant, really original pottery after buying some of their pottery, we said our good byes and knew that on our next visit to Jambiani we will go back and eat at Kim's restaurant.

We recommend that everyone should stop by and taste the Rasta Chefs food when visiting Jambian
