Degree Programs

- For Government of Kenya sponsored students, entry requirements are set and admission is done by the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

- For self-sponsored students, a mean grade of C+ is required except for B.Sc (Computer Science) which requires a mean grade of B plain in KCSE in addition to specified grades in KCSE subjects for each programme.

- KCSE mean grade C, subject to sppecified grades in some subjects for each programme

Overview

Kimathi University College of Technology (KUCT) is a public, coeducational technological university located in Nyeri, Kenya.

It is one of 19 public universities and constituent colleges in Kenya, one of four constituent colleges of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and it employs a strong emphasis on scientific and technological programmes.

It started as a middle level National Technical and Business Oriented learning Institution in 1972 and was elevated in 2007 to a constituent University College of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) through a Kenya gazette notice to become a fully fledged university in three yearsIt is located approximately 6 km from Nyeri along the Nyeri – Mweiga highway.

The entire college land spans about 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) – consisting of 350 acres (1.4 km2) of natural forest, 350 acres (1.4 km2) of mature coffee and 300 acres (1.2 km2) of open space for expansion.
