The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College (KCM College) was started in 1997 and is situated within the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), about 6 Kilometres from Moshi Town, Kilimanjaro Region on the slop of the snow-caped Mount Kilimanja.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

English language:

All courses are taught in English. Therefore it isimperative that students are proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.

It is upon the candidate to satisfy oneself that he / she meets this important requirement before registering for any course at this college.

Applicants who fulfill the following “General Admission Requirements”must also meet the “Specific Admission Requirements” for theprogrammes they wish to enter.

For undergraduate degree programmes, these are general admission requirements:

Category A:

Direct Entry (Form VI graduates)

Applicants eligible for direct admission to a degree programme must have arned:

a) Must hold at least three O-level credit passes in approved subjects one of which must be the English language.b) ACSEE results with at least two principal passes and a total of 4.5 or more points.

Category B:

Equivalent Qualifications (Diploma holders)Applicants eligible for admission under this regulation to a degree programme must have either:

i. Must hold at least three O-level credit passes in approved subjects or a minimum of 5 passes including approved subjects, one of which must be the English language andii. Must hold a suitable diploma from a recognized institution.

The diploma should have an overall average of a B-grade oriii. Met entry requirements at an accredited University in the applicants home country (for foreign applicants) subject to approval by the KCM College Academic Board and the Tumaini University Senate.

Payment of Fees:

Fees are payable in full at the beginning of the academic year or in two equal installments at the beginning of each semester.Fees paid will not be refunded if a student withdraws or leaves the Medical College without permission.

However, if a student receives prior permission from the Principal/Provost to withdraw or to be away from the Medical College and provided that the application in writing to withdraw or to be away from the Medical College is submitted within the first four weeks from the beginning of the\ academic year/term fifty percent of the fees may be refunded.

Student Identification card :

Students shall be issued identification cards, which they should wear at all times within the campus. The identity card is not transferable and any fraudulent use may result in loss of student privileges or suspension.

Loss of the identity card should be reported to the office of Dean of Students where a new one can be obtained for Tshs. 3,500/= (three thousand five hundred only)

Transfer Students

Students transferring from another University, which has a similar curriculum, will be considered for exemption by the Academic Board from takingcorresponding courses and as per Tanzania Commission for Universities(TCU) guidelines of transferring students.
