Kilemakyaro Mt Lodge

We stayed at Kilemakyaro Mt Lodge in Moshi Town Tanzania. The property is pretty on the outside and has beautiful views of the mountain.

The food is tasty and plentiful and Doris (prepared our eggs each morning) was a pleasure to begin our day with!

Thanks Doris for the nice smile and great breakfast!

The rooms are all detached bungalow style with En-suite bathrooms. Its 2 to a room with 2 single beds.

Each room is clean with a table and chairs and 2 plug sockets (all uk plugs). There's a hot shower in each bathroom.

The beds have mosquito nets fitted so no need to bring your own. The rooms have a balcony with a small table too (the we hardly used it).

The grounds are well looked after and it feels like you're in a nice safe surrounding which is a bonus.

We realised at daylight that this is a coffee plantation and farm. Don’t be put off, you don’t see any of the farm stuff except when arriving and leaving.

There is a Bar area (beers 2US Dollars for 500ml) and a Tv (occasionally showing western sports). This is open till you stop buying - 4am for our party on all 3 nights...

There is a small pool enough for a small swim but the star attraction is that you can (when the clouds have gone) get a great view of Kilimanjaro.

Also from behind the main building you get a great view over the rest of Tanzania (though the mountain is the one everyone wants to see).

The food in the hotel has a distinct local feel. Always 10-15 dishes to choose from but for eg chicken and rice would be a chicken wing on the bone.

Personally no issues for me but some people are fussy so thought I'd mention. Always the food was well cooked and nicely presented - and no one had any issues after eating it. The hotel also put an outdoor BBQ on after the trip which was great.

The hotel is a 15 min car ride to central Moshi but the hotel will take you there if you can be flexible on timing. if that’s the only downside there really isn't a reason to stay anywhere else!

If you're booked here on a Kilimanjaro trip then no need to worry - you'll love it here!
