Jambo Guest House

We wanted spend our last night on Zanzibar in Stonetown, party to have an easy trip to the airport for a morning flight and also experience the much talked of town a little.

We had a family debate - spend money on accommodation or on some other treat.

We decided on the latter and hence a short search for good and affordable accommodation was instigated.

Jambo Guesthouse were very efficient in answering email enquires and had a triple room ready and waiting for us when we arrived even though we had not been able to pay a deposit in advance.

The room was tidy, clean, had a fan and air-conditioning and lovely old Zanzibari beds which were very comfy.

The room was on the ground floor facing onto the pavement and I was worried it might be noisy, but it was all very peaceful.

The bathroom was shared - clean, but being on the ground floor, and one used by other visitors, it wouldn't be that great for a longer stay - especially for showering.

The breakfast was really good with fresh fruit and juice, but I think no coffee for my wife who needs her morning cup.

The location is great - close to the market and bus park for easy connections all over Zanzibar and yet a short walk through the fascinating Stonetown alleys to the seafront.

Jambo arranged a taxi for us to the airport - about 15 mins away and it cost 15000Tz. For a night or two in Stonetown Jambo Guesthouse is a tidy, efficient and convenient place to stay
