Jackies Bar and restaurant

At Jackies Bar and restaurant , the food was good and cheap. Drinks were cheap, too, and the waitresses were attentive. All in all a great local place to hang out.

Jackie's is one of thousands of "container bars" found everywhere in Tanzania.

It is quite big however with a seating capacity of well over 100 people. Not only drinks but also tanzanian food (soup, chips mayai, beef mishkaki, nyama choma, ndizi etc) is on offer at very moderate prices.

While other pubs/bars nearby sell a bottle of beer for 2000 TZS during "happy hour" at J's the price is always 1500 TZS. The clientele is a mix of africans, europeans, americans, aussies and asians.

In short, the whole world is there for an "after work beer" or a "sun downer", to watch football, F1 or rugby on TV and much more. It's a real fun place, especially if you belong to the "high table".
