Zanzibar House of Spices Restaurant

I love the calzone pizza here! Zanzibar House of Spices is operated by an Italian couple who have been here for years and appreciate and deliver good Italian food and well as some local fare.

The atmosphere is comfortable and tasteful, on a verandah that overlooks the city.

It is located in the heart of Stone Town near the market.

They also have some quaint rooms on the first floor, and a shop on the ground.

The place was recommend to me by a friend and i was pleasantly surprised.

First of all Home made iced spice tea were available, which is rare enough in Zanzibar to be mentioned.

The House is tastefully decorated with a specific attention to details and cleanness which equal any of the 5 stars boutique hotel in stone town.

The house of spice prices being reasonable, the place have a TOP value for money.

We were provided with a nice room, a good meal and really enjoyed to chill at the bar lounge on the roof top ( will add some bigger sofa tough).

The Staff and Owner are very pleasant.

We had a issue with water which was sorted in less than a minute.

The Waiter arranged for us to eat in the bar instead of the restaurant.

They were attentive but not obstructive which is a must in Zanzibar.

I will not hesitate to recommend the house of spice for a intimate stay in the heart of Stone town
