Hippo Point & Dodos Tower

You are Here: › Hippo Point & Dodo's Tower

Hippo Point and Dodos Tower is NOT a hotel; it is a very special, personal place.

Imagine having a castle of one´s own in the middle of Africa. With pure virgin bush as surroundings, in spite of Naivasha Town having risen dramatically in population the last 10 years.

Hippo point is all solitude, charm, gracious living, perfect, attentive and very discrete service, coupled with magnificent surroundings.

No other place comes even remotely near what Hippo Point has to offer. It is a wonderful site for a wedding, a honeymoon or just a few days of relaxation to share with that very special person in Your life. It is a mirage created by mrs Dodo Cunningham-Reid and it etches into Your soul. And never leaves.

Go to their website and see the pictures. Imagine Yourself to be there, as the only guests. It is even better in real life! Words fail to find a single fault with the place. Or its employees. Then, start saving up and send them a booking request, for having seen the pictures and read the text, You simply cannot stay at home anymore...

Us, Hippo Point is one of the most beautiful place in the world! It was the first stop of our Kenyan trip. It is not really a hotel. It is rather a home with not so many rooms and not so many people.

The fantastic thing is that this (beautiful) mansion is built in a small land between two lakes with a lot of animals on it.

When in Hippo Point, you can walk to both lake very easily in 10 minutes (usually with a guide of Hippo Point, but we did a lot of times alone).

On the land there are many animals staying around (girafes, zebras, antilopes, monkeys, etc.) As there are no lions or dangerous animals, you can walk on your own in the (huge) garden and meet these animals very close to you. It is simply unbelievable for people like us who love animals (and birds).

You can also make a night drive with the guide in the property to watch hippos out of the lake and a lot of other animals hunting at night (hyenas, foxes, etc.)

Rooms are very comfortable and furnished with very good taste. Food is amazing and drinks included in the price.

The (french) managers are very kind and always helpful. The guides (ours was Amos) are very gentle and know everything about animals and birds.
