Hatari Lodge in Arusha Tanzania

You are Here: › Hatari Lodge

This past year I returned to Hatari Lodge for my third visit - and it only gets better with each visit! This is truly a hidden gem of a place surrounded by some of Tanzania's most stunning nature.

We stayed at Hatari Lodge for two nights in March and really enjoyed the setting of the lodge nestled against the edge of Arusha National Park.

This land between Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro is covered in lush tropical forest... in places almost fairly like! Panorama views, perfect climate and a permanent feeling of being up amongst the clouds.

Only a 2 hour drive from Arusha this place feels like a different world and fantastic to visit for a weekend.... or much longer if you have the time. Every time I go I keep wishing I had more time to stay there!

The lodge is a beautiful and filled with clever, unique, and aesthetically fabulous decor - one must give full credit to Marlise here - and say THANK YOU for creating a place that is different and memorable.

Eating lunch and watching giraffes outside, or having a sun downer far out on the observation deck or falling asleep by the fire place in your room - all the little moments add up to perfection. I will be back very soon and this time for longer :)

We went on a day drive to the Ngurdoto Crater and a nice lunch in picnic tins was provided unlike the lunch boxes provided at some lodges.

The food was good and we enjoyed the lodge décor which was fun and tastefully done including local arts and crafts. The lodge was well maintained and very clean.

The owners joined guests and management for dinner one evening and were delightful.

All in all we had a very peaceful and enjoyable time at the Hatari Lodge. Our son who loves giraffe was especially pleased with the herds of giraffe we saw
