The Fishmonger restaurant Dar es Salaam

The Fishmonger restaurant is is conveniently situated in the shopping complex next to the Sea Cliff Hotel and offers a wide choice of menu. The food is all freshly prepared and of a high standard.

As expected prawns and calamari feature prominently and are very good - the calamari steak was splendid.

There is no wine list and instead waiters will bring a selection of bottles in a wire carrier from which one can make a choice - I've never seen this before but it is a good idea.

One particular advantage is, that if staying at the Sea Cliff Hotel, the cost of the meal can be charged to your room.

This restaurant in running by a South african Chineese (comes from johannesburg) man and a bulgarian lady, who really mixed the cultures of cusines very very well.

I am not feeling like I am eating a local food and I also not feeling like a standard international food.

A lobster is around US 17 $. They also serve Jumbo and giant prawns again an affordable price.

I am underlining the price, because it is very normal and affordable.

Environment is lovely, deserts are as beautiful as the unexpected. also they have my number one wine in Africa called Drostdy Hof.

Chocolate fondant is fantastic, shrimp and lobster coctail must be ordered. They also have fanstastic beef steak for people who dont like seafood.
