Farmland Safari Resort

Farmland Safari Resort in Kasese Town Uganda is something a little different from the usual resorts or lodges that you are likely to stay at in Uganda.

The house is far more like a British Guest House as it is a working farmhouse where the owners have turned a large part of it into a Guest House.

It also doubles as a bar, restaurant and a hire shop for tractors!

First of all, the staff are fantastic, especially Moses, the manager. He was always ready with a cold beer or Fanta on return from your trip.

The food served in the evening was also very good. Yes, it was simple but was also very tasty.

Credit to the chef for cooking up our meal one night by the light of a mobile phone following a power cut!

Once we had settled in Moses took us for a walk into the nearby village and to the trading centre.

It was really interesting and something we probably wouldn't have ventured out on our own to do.

He also showed us round the farm land and introduced us to some of the workers on the land.

The location is also breathtaking, at the foot of the mountains, bordering Congo.

The rooms at the Guest House are small and the bathrooms could certainly do with a bit of a renovation but all in all they were kept very tidy.

This is something a little different and well worth considering for a budget option in the area.
