Entumoto Safari Camp

Entumoto Safari Lodge in Masai Mara Game Reserve Kenya is very special - a place where they make you feel at home.

I shouldn't have been surprised, as even the reservation agent was so helpful in planning the trip.

From our first step into the mara, the Entumoto staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Upon arrival, we had a short game drive - where we saw 4 out of the big 5! Isaac, our guide, is a great tracker and not only shows you the animals, but is able to answer any of your questions.

By the end of the trip, we were really trying hard to find questions that he could not answer!

We realized how lucky we were when we went on a game drive as part of our hot air balloon ride and also heard the other passengers' experiences.

Isaac takes the extra time and care to make sure you are happy and understand your environment.

Even though it was the short rain season (November), we only had rain 1 day and it did not stop us from seeing any of the wildlife.

We saw all of the big 5, lots of babies, a cheetah go for the kill with 2 cubs in tow and even 20 lions in a day!

At camp, the staff was ready with welcome drinks and eagerly awaited our arrival.

There was 6 of us in a family tent and 1 regular tent. Tents should not be the word - the family tent had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room with fireplace and a porch with beautiful panoramic views.

In the afternoon we could go around the camp with a Masai guide who told us about different bushes and seeds and how they were used by the Masai people. At night in the camp we had delicious meals.

In the dark we were always followed by a Masai warrior to prevent attacks from the animals. We could swim in the pool and there was also opportunity to get some nice massage.

I could not think of a better way to be a bit acquainted with Africa/Kenya/Masai Mara! I really wish that my children and there families would go there!

It really made our trip special that we were able to have a family tent- not many smaller camps have this option.

Our tent was an uphill walk which made the views fabulous, but make sure to let them know if you prefer a closer tent.
