We had a great stay at Dude's Guesthouse and can highly recommend it.
what truly made the stay memorable was the optimal location not straight at the beach (where the friendly but at times a tiresome beach hawkers pass by) but that the house is a little set back from the beach scene.
You see more of the African village everyday life gently pass by the place's coconut tree garden, while still get sight of the ocean waves just outside.
I think that is also southern Jambiani's lucky balance; it is enough "developed" to have an array of pretty good seafood restaurants around and high quality guesthouses but has escaped becoming just another one of those bland tourist resorts that are more common up north along the coast.
Super location - less than 25 meters from the blue ocean.
Dude offers top service, lovely breakfast with
homemade wonderful juice, omelet, fresh fruit and homemade chai.
Great clean spacious room with own bathroom and
toilet, fully equipped kitchen, but we did not make use of it, Dude made
delicious dinner for little money, upon our request.
We were pampered and enjoyed staying there and
will sure be back.
On top of this Dude did arrange very successful
tours snorkeling, dolphins, island tour, spice tour - you just ask.
Quiet - only the sound of the waves during night.
Jambiani is what we all dream of with very few
tourists, a very cozy spot - apart from lovely wide long white beach, also
friendly, a lot to see and at the same time very relaxing - we only meet very
sweet and friendly people.
Rent a bike on a Sunday when everybody has the
day off and go up long the beach - we went 14 km up the coast and did not see
the end of that lovely beach, but meet a lot of sweet kids.
. Do not miss this - go there while you can.
