Brisk Hotel Triangle

Brisk Hotel Triangle in Jinja Town Uganda was cheap and I guess you get what you pay for. We had a nice enough stay here. It was a step up from a backpackers (in some ways), but not in the realm of a decent hotel.

Triangle is really a 1, maybe 2 star hotel by western standards. The view over the Nile from our balcony was spectacular.

You can't expect much in Uganda in the way of Hotels so this was really a good cheap option. We visited 2 Friends (another hotel and restaurant) for lunch and really, there is no comparison regarding quality, but you pay around 3 times the price for a room.

There aren't many other options in Jinja if you want to keep the price down.
The room was big and basic.

It had a good mosquito net, a decent bed, fridge and hot water occasionally was running, but mostly cold.

The bathroom was old and we had a constant battle to keep away ants (see photo). The breakfast was very, very, basic. Undercooked toast and jam.

None of that really bothered us and the bar staff and the cleaners were absolutely lovely. Very sweet and helpful.

The curry at the restaurant was excellent. II think the owners and cook are Indian so that with a Nile Special beer (and nice service from the bar and restaurant staff) was a good treat. If you are looking for a cheap option and not too fussy - then it is an OK stay.
