Cicada House vacation rental is an original
private Villa in Shela, Lamu. \
Its one of the few beachfront properties styled in traditional Lamu architecture combining solid stone walls around a courtyard and breezy thatched verandahs that enjoy expansive sea views and a large private and quiet garden.
Comprising of 3 bedrooms ensuite, dining and living areas. Cicada is away from the "hustle and bustle" of Lamu Town or Shela Village.
Walking distance to restaurants, hotels and long white sandy beaches makes this a perfect place to retreat to or hang out at.
Ideal for a family holiday or for a honey mooning couple, you will be taken care of in a very comfortable house by extremely capable staff.
Come and experience good old fashioned beach holiday in a beautiful and unique
part of the world!
Cicada House sits just outside of and yet within reach the hustle, bustle and life of Shela town. It is among the very few properties in this tiny enclave that can brag having a sprawling, mature garden with sea views from every one of its three floors.
I enjoyed the casual, indoor/outdoor atmosphere and the feeling that I was living in surfer's paradise - what I imagine most of Shela was like thirty years ago. And yet it enjoys all the modern amenities of any fully equipped villa.
If you are looking for a chilled place to kick back and experience the best of the Kenya coast, this is it.
Cicada House is a 5 minute walk to the convivial company at Peponi Hotel bar and the beginning of the most unspoilt beach in Kenya.
There are no beach salesmen and 6km of almost deserted beach.
Lamu also has the best seafood due to the lack of mass tourism hotels to buy it all up.
The cheapest Lobster and huge crab you will find anywhere and loads of fresh fish straight from the fishermen walking in off the beach.
The house itself is old style Kenya...comfortable, clean and Kitsao and Charles really take care of you.
