Zanzibar Baraza Resort & Spa

Baraza Resort and Spa is the top resort in Zanzibar. Having experienced several hotels this has it all,

good food, service and wonderful villas. Nothing is too much for the staff.

The villas are fantastic and cool even in the hot afternoons. A real paradise!

The first thing that you will notice at Baraza is the beauty of the exotic interior. You will feel like an Indian queen.. and the feeling doesn't stop.

The rooms (this no longer qualifies as a room) are magnificent: beautiful, big, private..

Only little detail that bothered me were the plunge pools, they could have just a little bit cleaner, we were fishing leaves ourselves before we got in.

The food was excellent, just too much of it :-) All is included and they will no doubt make sure you have enough. Drinks even without ordering and so on, 5 course evening dinners..

When I was asked yet another time if there was anything else I would like, I almost felt it was too much..

The beach was clean and there are many activities, if just laying around on a Bounty beach and paradise-like island is not enough for you.

Nice sweet detail: there was music under water in the pool. One can but only relax in this place. Relax in luxury.

The accommodation at the baraza is individual luxury villas in Moroccan inspired style. They are beautiful and well maintained.

Staff are lovely and you are well looked after all times. Service around the pool during the day for food drinks and cocktails was very good and staff are very attentive.

The food and service were 5 star and could not be faulted.

It is silver service in the evening which is lovely for an all inclusive hotel and they did buffets on some night which served equally good food.

The hotel is a little isolated so you can not eat out of it easily or visit the town. Stone town is a 40 minute drive from the hotel. We were happy however staying in the hotel but that is something to note.

Spa is gorgeous – definitely a great hotel for relaxing, sunbathing and eating and drinking well.

Mosquitoes and flies are an issue in Tanzania so take plenty of repellent and use it day and night.

We would highly recommend this hotel.
