Acholi Inn Hotel

If you are looking for a comfortable place, Acholi Inn Hotel in Lira Town Uganda should be it.

Stayed there over a week -- While there were times when there was neither hot water nor electricity, ever helpful staff tried to provide you with the best service they could with smiles.

Generator was turned off usually from mid-night till 5:30 am.

Receptionists always greeted with 'Welcome Back' and that really helped to cheer me up at the end of the long day at work.

Breakfast was ok --always the same so it had become rather boring at times.

For dinner, I enjoyed fish fingers and chef salad -- however, sometimes it took nearly an hour for a chef to prepare chef salads. Or worse still they could not find enough fresh veg to put on top.

I personally preferred the old wing rather than a new 3 story building with more lights over the study desk. Wi-Fi is available in the dining area for free.

Laundry service is available but maybe a little more expensive than in other hotels in Kampala.

My colleagues tried other hotels in Gulu but gradually come all back to Acholi Inn because of its service, spaciousness, availability of free internet connection, and swiftly turned-on generator.

Will always go back there.

Oh, as for dining experience in Gulu town, go to Sankofa Cafe for good pizza and Prince Restaurant for good Indian.
