Loldia House

What a neat property! We arrived to Loldia House at lunchtime from Nairobi via a van.

Note - we later learned that flying from Nairobi was an option.

Would highly recommend it! Roads are bad and not a particularly car ride.

We were 'upgraded' to the cottage up the hill.

Very, very nice.

Quiet. Relaxing. George was our steward and he did a great job.

Nice warm fire each night. Tea and cake in the afternoon.

Jacob was our driver/guide. He was fantastic. We went to a lake near Naivasha one day to see the hippos, pelicans, and flamingos. Really, really cool. The next day we went to Lake Nakuru park. They packed a very nice lunch for us. Saw a lot of great animals. Jacob was a great guide.

Breakfast and lunch at Loldia House served outside on the lawn. Very, very nice. Dinner served in the dining room with all guests at one table. Food was traditional english fare - to match with the style of the property.

Service was excellent. Highlight of the trip was clearing the runway at the air strip for our flight to the Mara. Had to chase water buffalo, zebras, and various 'venison' off the runway so our airplane could land.

Would recommend staying here. Its a good place to start the transition to a safari. (From here, we went to the tents at Little Governors.)

A day trip to lake Naivasha is certainly worth it to see the flamingoes and other wildlife. We even saw lions and rhino in the Nakuru park.
Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a few day's peace and quiet
