Epiya Chapeyu Camp Tsavo East NP Kenya

You are Here: › Epiya Chapeyu Camp

The Epiya Chapeyu Camp is situated right next to the river, which sets the scene brilliantly. During evening sundowners you will see all sorts of wildlife, including hippos and elephants.

The establishment is run by the friendly Big family, who have been based here many years and have many stories to tell.

The meals are excellent and staff go the extra mile to ensure guest needs are met.

Epiya Chapeyu offers excellent value for money, so stay a few nights and enjoy the tranquility.

Epiya Chapeyu is not touristy. It is rough around the edges, in a good way. The staff are friendly if not highly trained, the tents are comfortable though a little worn, the food is good but not terrific, and the common areas are basic yet accommodating.

The location is terrific: right on the Galana river.

As in, if you pop your tusker bottle cap off with a little too much force, it might hit a hippo.

This place is great value-- if you want a nice weekend escape but you don't need utter luxury such as at nearby Galdessa, but you want a terrific location from which to go on game drives, this place is a good choice.

If you have kids that are old enough to want to walk/around, this place isn't the most relaxing since there is no fence between you and the beasties, and you'll spend half you time chasing your kid/s around to keep them from becoming dinner
