Canton Malaysian Chinese Restuarant Mombassa

If you're in town and feel like a bit of Chinese, Canton Malaysian Chinese Restaurant is the place to go.

It's located at the Castle hotel, in an airconditioned (nice & cool) room and serves excellent Cantonese food.

Whenever I'm in town for the day I have a couple of beers at the Castle hotel bar and then go for a great lunch at Canton.

Everything I've eaten there is very good, freshly prepared and properly seasoned.

While The Galaxy is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Mombasa, Canton is also of excellent quality and slightly less expensive. Go for lunch and try it out.

You will be positively surprised.

I happened to go to the Castle by accident, as the restaurant I was looking for had closed down.

Other Restaurants and Fast Food Outlets

It is situated on Moi Avenue. You can sit inside or on the terrace.

I went there on a Friday lunch time. They had a buffet or you could order off the menu. I chose to get something on the menu, Chicken Tikka and Roti with vegetables.

The Chicken Tikka was tender, and succulent. It usually comes with a salad, but I asked for steamed vegetables, which was not a problem, whatsoever.

I had Chocolate fudge cake for dessert, the portion was huge, and didn't think I could finish it, but it was so good I did.

The service was excellent. Their fresh Passion and Orange juices were delicious. The bill came to 1140 kenya shillings, which I think was a bargain.

The location is great, and a good place to stop if you have spent the day shopping, or want to meet friends for a quick meal.
