Tanzanite Beach Resort Hotel in Zanzibar Island

You are Here: › Tanzanite Beach Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tanzanite Beach Resort - the instant we arrived and saw the beach, we regretted that we only booked two nights there before heading to Stonetown. Our room was located in one of the bungalows closest to the beachfront, and it was quite spacious and clean, with a beautiful view of the water.

James and his team were really wonderful. They made the impossible possible. The chef at the resort offered great value for money food, with healthy sized portions. Service was great. Accommodation was clean.

This resort, or hotel, has several qualities to it, two of which are: it is small, thus the staff is very considerate and it is far from the madding crowd of the Western coast of Zanzibar where hoards of low cost holiday makers fight for a space on the beach or at the restaurant.

The staff were friendly and the restaurant was fine. My biggest complaint is that the strip of beach on which the resort lies is a little difficult to swim with the tide patterns (low tide is very far out, and high tide absorbs the beach entirely - you have it hit it at just the right time)

Also, the beach is covered with coral (and often times sea urchins!), so watch your step if you do opt to take a swim during high tide.
