Tembo House Hotel in Zanzibar Island

You are Here: › Tembo House Hotel

We went to Tembo House Hotel on the 7 June 2012 there was a slight mix up with the booking we were not sure that will still find a room.

Abdulaziz Yusuf the hotel manager came and was told the story by his staff and he came to us and greeted us and told us to relax in the restaurant and made us comfortable there,

offered us something to drink and promised that he will help us with the accommodation.

He came back after a short while and told us the room is available and asked one of his staff to take us up to the room.

He was very helpful all the step of the way.

I was really impressed with the service we got from Tembo House Hotel and staff was very friendly and help at all times.

I'd high recommend that if one goes to Zanzibar, one should stay at Tembo House Hotel. I definately will be staying with them the next time I go to Zanzibar in the few weeks to come

It is a good 2 star accommodation by my assessment.

Good view of the sea.

However as it is close to the port, you will not feel like swimming here.

Breakfast is bad and the way it is laid out will remind you of school dormitories.

Best thing is the furniture ( quaint and antique ) that matches the milieu of the stone town. Pool is uninviting. Wifi is like the turtle seen on the island across.

Good place to stay if you are interested in the town, market, culture history etc.
Bad place to stay if you are here for a beach holiday.
