Tana Rest House Mombasa

You are Here: › Tana Rest House

I stayed in Tana Rest House Mombasa with two others in a triple room. We basically had no choice as we had not booked any accommodation before arriving in Mombasa and just about every hotel was booked out!

The man on the front desk was not so friendly but the room was very cheap at KSH600 for the three of us! The shower room and WC were communal but were very clean.

The room did not have nets but there was a fan, which kept bugs away!

The hotel is very noisy as it is on a very busy street. I did sleep but had I stayed for more than a night, it might have annoyed me.

This is a good budget hotel for anyone needed a place to sleep in Mombasa but do not expect any luxuries!

Cheap (Ks400 single, Ks500 double, Ks600 triple), basic accommodation, located on a busy corner near the departure points for buses going to either Tanga (Tanzania) or Nairobi.

Reception is friendly and trustworthy. Single rooms are small, so I took a double room for the extra space.

Plumbing is adequate, but periodic. Climb up to the roof for laundry / lines and a good view of the city.
