Stone Town Cafe and Bed & Breakfast

I had a total of four nights at Stone Town Café and B&B.

Pre-trip questions and arrangements were handled very efficiently and graciously by Judi.

I was met at the airport by their driver Jimmy who was very friendly and polite.

The hotel is quite small, squashed between some rather decrepit buildings on either side,

but it is freshly painted with healthy potted palms outside that make it very welcoming.

The breakfasts are delicious with a good variety to choose from - having tried the crepes,

scrambled eggs and fruit salad I can recommend them all! Plus it is also good for lunch and reasonably priced.

The room itself was lovely - we had a QS room which was pretty, spacious and clean. The attention to detail is nice with local soaps and a helpful folder with maps and recommendations.

We organised a couple of trips via the hotel. Prison Island we could probably have done cheaper if we had booked via the various travel agents.

We used the taxi driver (to Matemwe and Pongwe) from the hotel who was reliable and friendly however in retrospect I think we were probably overcharged and could have found a better price elsewhere but for convenience you can't go wrong.

We found the staff as a whole to be very friendly and polite, however the manager was sometimes less than welcoming and when we explained to her that we had no hot water.

Overall though we had a very pleasant stay and would probably stay here again due to the price, location and yummy breakfasts
