Shahi Darbar Restaurant

You are Here: › Shahi Darbar Restaurant

Shahi Darbar Restaurant is one of the newer restaurants that have sprung up on the peninsula in the last year or so. I've only tried subcontinental dishes here but, perhaps to hedge their bets, they also serve Chinese.

Their lists of Indian and Pakistani dishes are comprehensive, and the food is surprisingly good, with their subcontinental dishes typically priced at under 10000, less than five euros.

Their salty lassi comes in a large glass, as it should, and is excellent as well as very reasonably priced.

The setting is more typical for indian restaurants in Africa, catering for Indians. That is, decorated with garden hoses containing blinking lights in a range of colors.

Not my style. If you are looking for a Good Pakistani Taste on the Chole Road (Near Double Tree and Sea Cliff Hotel) You must visit Shahi Darbar.

I visited there many times and ordered different dishes.

Sindhi Biryani is their speciality, Must ask waiter for a Spicy one otherwise they will give you Plain Biryani.

Also, Many Chiken and Mutton Dishes are available.

Rates are very Nominal comparatively to other near by restaurants,

e.g. Chiken Handi = 8000 TZS + Butter Naan = 1500 TZS

All other prices are almost under 10,000 ...

Its very near to Double Tree hotel on the main Chole Road.
